Infonaut Profiled in HealthyGIS

Monday, May 7th, 2007

The ‘LHIN Health Atlas’ a branded version of Region Watch Live, developed with Ontario’s Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, has been profiled as a cover story in HealthyGIS, an international industry publication.

The ministry created the atlas to provide ministry and LHIN management with quick and easy access to maps depicting LHIN-level and sub-LHIN-level health care provider and health-related information as well as metrics.

It is a powerful tool that has been customized for their specific health care planning purposes. Preset map extents and LHIN-based queries, enables easy access to the information they need.

The core strength of the atlas is comprehensive data. The ministry can now, in one system, see all the service providers (e.g., long-term care homes, hospitals, public health units, community care access centers) and relevant local health data and indicators at the same time.

This is the second time in 6 months that Infonaut has been recognized in an international publication, having been featured in Wired magazine in November 2006.
