Merit Award at Showcase Ontario 2006

Tuesday, August 1st, 2006

Infonaut is pleased to announce our partner, The Health Results Team for Information Management (HRT-IM) within the Ministry of Health, has won a Merit Award at Showcase Ontario 2006 for their Information Management Strategy. They are also eligible for a Diamond award at the presentation ceremony on September 26th.

HRT-IM leveraged leadership within the ministry and across the health system itself by building partnerships internally and externally – through pilot projects encouraging and supporting the implementation of elements of the IM strategy within individual health care organizations.

HRT-IM was recognized for their business-driven efforts and their ability to partner with numerous stakeholders across health to develop an Information Management Strategy. Focus was given to particular end-states/outcomes that mattered to stakeholders in the health system, including: producing better data, measuring performance to support accountability and quality improvement, and supporting evidence-based decisions.

As a HRT-IM partner, Infonaut played a key role in helping deliver on this strategy. Infonaut developed the LHIN Health Atlas, a web-based mapping application that brings a whole new decision-making ability to the coordination of health planning. This is becoming a key tool for the ministry in measuring performance to support accountability and quality improvement, and supporting evidence-based decisions.
